Day 4

Well the breakfast was free that's all well say, they had biscuits and gravy and eggs that was cooked. They had cereal and breads. We didn't know what we were going to do except ride the ducks! We left for the duck ride and got there in time to get on! It was a beautiful trip, except us getting stuck in traffic and we had to use the bathroom!

After the ducks we went to Fuddruckers, our 2nd time to go. This one was so much better than the one in Tulsa! We were full! The boys wanted to go swim and I wanted to tour the winery! So mom's driving, mom wins! The smell when you entered the building was wonderful! The tour was short and the tasting session of 14 wines was private with our group. The kids got grape juice.

So to the hotel we went. They swam, then I took a nap while Nick played on the laptop. Then to dinner we went! We had gift certificates for an Outback restaurant, but not like what were used to. It was good. Nick had Mahi Mahi for the first time ever but still prefers Salmon best!

After dinner they wanted to go back to the hotel and I wanted to geocache a bit since we havent since we have been here. We found a neat cache and we went to the historic downtown area. We parked and walked down to the watershow on the Landing and it was neat to see the colored lights everywhere and then guess what rolls in as we get to the lights, the fog. It was still neat.

Back to the hotel Nick and I played cards, the boys swam and tomorrow we piddle our way home!

Heres todays pics!

Day 3

Well we got up to another wonderful hot breakfast, ham no sausage, yuck! Off to Silver Dollar City! Wow you park a mile away then they bus you there! But it was FREE! The boys wanted to ride the first closest roller coaster but decided the line was insane! So we walked towards the rides! As I sat and they went from ride to ride, it began to sprinkle. The sprinkles turned into drops, then it was a cross between a heavy drizzle and light rain. So we decided to eat lunch and get out of the rain. We ate and decided it wasn't going to stop anytime soon, so the boys decided one more ride then we would leave. Wesley rode his first roller coaster! We got on a shuttle back to the parking lot with lots of other people that got there when we did. We did watch the glass blower, very cool and the cast iron man and a group singing at SDC so it was fun. We have a 2 day pass we might come back one more time before we leave, rain pending.

You see I promise my kids we would come to Branson for Spring Break but I had surgery in February and it wasn't possible! So this was the perfect start to our summer and a great way to thank them for taking care of me after surgery!

I have discovered that Nick has a girlfriend. He hasn't ever spoke of her until now, those two have talked a few times and are texting constantly. She is on vacation with her family in Kansas. I will have to look her up in the yearbook when we get back.

We left SDC wet and feeling horrible! Nick and I took a nap after we got checked in to a different hotel. We got up and headed to the Dixie Stampede. We have been to Medievil times in Dallas twice. This show tells the tale of the south! You are seated and either are the North or the South. Very cool, I would come to the show again it was that good! The main narrator, star of the show, as this is a singing show, was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice! We got to met her after the show! Wow! The horses can be seen outside of the building and Wesley thought that was wonderful!

We made it back to the hotel and the boys swam and I got into the hot tub trying to relax, it is vacation, thats what I am suppose to do right?

Heres the pictures enjoy!

Day 2 Branson

Where to begin! Wesley was feeling much better! The boys were jumping from one bed to the next, ugh boys! So we went to a hot breakfast! Oatmeal, eggs, sausage patties, waffles you make, cereal, breads/muffins, biscuits, gravy, and hashed potatoes. Nick thought the potatoes were super awesome! I was excited for the oatmeal, I look forward to Boy Scout Summer Camp just for that! I remember that from elementary school when we lived in Byng. K-1st, before I came to Mustang in 2nd grade.

Ok off to the first time share tour to get our SDC tickets. Gorgeous! Not too far from where we stayed! The appt was at noon and they fed us hot dogs, chili dogs, nachos, and juice. The kids were happy, and Wesley ate an entire Hot Dog! We left, and had to go to redeem our tickets. Well not at that place they gave me a card to go somewhere else. I walk out and its POURING DOWN RAIN! ugh! Were running behind on the Big Cedar tour and had to find our dang place to get our tickets! Found it and got the tickets then took the closest road to get to Big Cedar from where we were. OMG it was beautiful! We saw the huge dam and of course mr camera man wasnt ready and missed it! I was told I griped at him and he then pulled it out and took pictures of EVERYTHING! We were turning on to the last highway before the turn off for Big Cedar and saw a garage sale on Drury Lane! We couldnt find it but we figured the MUFFIN MAN WAS SELLING HIS MUFFINS THERE! But wither way we know what area he could be found!

So 1/4 mile down this road you turn to go to Big Cedar. You wind and wind and wind and wind and well you get the point! We get there but we guess what.... GET LOST!! If you have ever been here you would understand! This place first is BEATUIFUL! I could live here and if I did, I would write books! But well I have children and it is a nice fantasy! Wesley can go to the play room and Nick and I went to tour. Wow amazing! Cheaper and more places to chose from than the last place! Either way it was breath taking! Nick started acting like he was dying and couldnt wait to get to Branson to eat and a sandwich he turned his nose up at. So since we got $50 in Bass Pro gift cards we were told we could use them anywhere Bass Pro has anything for sale! So we ate at Devil's Pond. The kids were grumpy and then cold inside, they were mad that we didnt sit outside, it was muggy outside! We ate, the salad I had was AWESOME! The soup, no comment! So we left and then headed back to look for the Muffin man, but no such luck! I had dibbled my soup on my shirt, nothing unusal for me, lol. But it stood out a bit. Nick yelled at me and said MOM YOUR NOT LARRY THE CABLE GUY! Dont change your shirt while your driving! lol I waited to park and did it quickly, sneaky, sneaky!

Well no Muffin man and so we decided an hour and few minutes before our Magic show so lets go find it. It took 45 minutes to find! This is how we accidently found Mnt Man Fruit & Nut Co. Had to stop, but it was nothing like the store in Castle Rock, Co. This one wasnt that great but found something for the kids to eat! Ended up calling them to get directions! Went to the show had a blast! I got a great idea for an awesome Scout Skit!

We got lost coming back went WAY too far and ended up no where near where we thought! So grabbed a Micky D's snack, planned escape route from massive traffic jam! Thank goodness for side roads. So I still missed my road and it threw us on other side but we got back to the main road, sat in a bit of the traffic jam, but found the DQ on the corner and found our hotel!

I dropped the boys off and then I had to find a parking spot! OMG I thought I was going to die! Boys got to swim for 30 minutes. I got pics uploaded and bed is calling ,my name! Its beyond LATE or really early depending on your mood! Rain may be a factor in tomorrows plan for Silver Dollar City, but we have plan B if needed! We will change Hotels tomorrow for 2 more nights and see Dolly's Stampeed tomorrow night! Wesley is very excited. So we will have plenty of pictures from that!

Good night alll! Enjoy the pics 3 pages today!

Day 1 Trip to Branson

Well we left about 7:30 this morning. McDonald's for survival food for our start, refilled up with gas at OnCue then to Wally World to buy sandwich stuff and snacks to cut out some costs. Then we started to get on the road. First cache we found after on the turnpike for about 40 minutes, we found tiny, tiny, tiny ticks. We keep caching our way to Branson, or so the plan is too. We find some caches and some are misleading. It is hard to cache near I-44 when its a turnpike. We ate lunch at a Oklahoma Visitors center, sandwiches that is, got to see our first Hybrid Cache. Wesley didn't eat but I made him a sandwich for later. He later decides he wants a Reece's and we tell him he needs to eat some of the sandwich first. Later he says he don't feel good and is restless. He sleeps and wakes himself up throwing up in the backseat. Thank God for leather! Thank goodness we were getting gas when this all went down. We were in Springfield, MO. Nick and I were starving and we ate Fazoli's for dinner. We get on the road again and we see hills up and down up and down and Nicks ears were popping. We several places along the way closer to Branson advertising Tourist Information, So it appeared the second we seen was still open and so we stopped. I went in and asked for discounts etc. I was told that there was a way to get a 2-day pass to Silver Dollar City for all three of us for $85! It would cost $150 for one day if we bought the tickets there! So we have a time share tour at 12 to get the tickets and then at 2:45 to get $50 in Bass Pro Gift Cards. So laundry in the morning so Wesley can have his blanket back and well we will have an extra set of clothes!

See our pictures here:

Interesting things we saw along the way and other dumb things:

1. We seen a Drug Warehouse. Hmm hey honey I am going to the warehouse need anything? lol
2. We seen a Hoe Supply Store. Hmmm
3. Falling Rock Sign, long before the rocks, Nick was so confused!
4. The roads in Missouri have mile markers every 2 tenths of a mile, did the state have extra money and wanted to waste it on 2 tenth mile markers?
5. Ok Missouri is the show-me state, but do their people have to show everyone else they cant drive!
6. Yield means just that! NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE! That means you yield to me, I am already do 70, and your not, so STOP!
7. The clerk at Fazoli's asks a lady who is wearing a shirt that that says something ropers with a lasso, and she goes out of her way to ask her what is a roper? hmmm HELLO HERES YOUR SIGN!
8. The nice man at Fazoli's tells us to come again soon, I stopped and said we couldn't as we weren't from here, the look on his face at first was rather shocking!
9. The Tri-State marker, ARE YOU KIDDING ME! OMG!
10. The ladies at the Welcome to Tulsa Geocache at the Oklahoma Visitor's center, we asked for the cache and they argued about where it was. Then one lady said its over there. I asked where, she stated I had to go find it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I asked where over there, she says in the bushes and acts like I am a moron. OMG!
11. The Welcome to Missouri Visitor's Center, super nice lady came over to us and put a packet together! Granted Wesley had a few brochures that I never got to see.
12. I got a great idea for a cache in Oklahoma somewhere!
13. So wished we could have cached more, but well, Nick got bored and Wes got sick, so we'll catch some before we leave Branson and to Arkansas on Tuesday and on the way back home on Wednesday.
14. I wish these pictures would upload much faster!
15. Hmm I really need to work on my homework.
16. Did you know that the ticks in the NE part of the state are tiny! Not in OKC there Ginormous!
17. OMG I spotted a Big Foot at the Tri-State marker! Freaked me out! I heard it moving in the trees right behnd us. Had to be from Kansas or Oklahoma and I couldnt tell! Then BUSTED! He wsant in the van like I thought, Nick Big Foot was throwing rocks and spooked the crap out of me! HA he got to got find the cache!
